This has to be one of the longest breaks I’ve had from the blogging world without any notice. For that I am sorry. To be completely honest the past couple of months have not been easy and I haven’t had the slightest motivation to write, be creative or do much other than try to get through each new day.
Back To Blogging
I’m sure every blogger goes through the same stages where they feel like they just push content just to keep up with ‘the algorithm’ and don’t get me wrong, some of the posts and collaborations I accomplished last year I am so bloody proud of but in my everyday life wise everything was not good. I wasn’t giving life my 110% like I used to. This was mostly down to my mood and certain events that happened, which I may be brave enough to talk about in a future post but for right now I think that’s best left to the past.
I knew I had to take a break, regroup and go back to the basics. Starting with this new blog layout 🤩 I have been umming and aaaing about which blog template to choose and this one from the lovely Kotryna was always the one I gravitated towards. Thanks to her I am also now on WordPress! This is something I’ve talked on and on about but never took the plunge and invested in. So instead of splurging on the Zara sales I decided the best course of action was to invest that money toward my blogging life.Completing this made me feel better about myself and made me realise that the key thing in anything – is to keep moving forward regardless of how slow you think you might be going.
I also wanted more creative freedom and to be able to adjust the layouts for each of my blog posts, to make them as user friendly as possible and create a better user experience for anyone who happens to stumble on lifeofpingkan.com.
Lately I have been gentle on myself, I have been taking things slow but realising that self-care is one of the key things that was lacking in my life. I had forgotten how important taking the time to just take care of yourself emotionally is. It’s amazing what a good face mask whilst winding down and reading a good book can do for the soul.
Stepping out of my comfort zone
Recently I went skiing for the first time with ski lessons included. If you didn’t know, I hate hate hate anything to do with being cold and especially snow. So when my boyfriend said that he booked us on a skiing holiday with a few of our friends… I am ashamed to say I was actually so dishearten. I felt so bad when my reaction to him was that of a downer but I just couldn’t help it, I just kept on thinking how horrendously cold I was going to be and how I’m going to completely suck at the sport, all the bad vibes you can think of – I was projecting onto him. I think this was also due to my mood and the lulness in life I was feeling, I felt that I didn’t deserve to be treated and I just wanted to stay in my bed and basically hibernateduring the holidays. I was ungrateful for the adventure and generosity that he was pouring out for me. Thankfully Jean-Michael never gives up and always pushes me back into the light and oh my god guess what – I LOVED skiing, from the little Barcelona getaway and all the cute adventures I had with my friends aaand it wasn’t cold in the slightest – More on this trip soon! 😌
I haven’t taken your quintessential blogger ‘new hair’ shots yet, but guys, I got a fringe! Some days I flip it back to my side parting but most days I have the fringe in there. It’s nice having the option for both to be honest. Besides my new hairdo, I’ve also incorporated healthier eating habits, swapping fruit instead of pastries in the morning and tons and tons of Green Tea. My plans to start on my fitness has slowly started and it’s something I really want to majorly improve on this year. But hey ‘slow and steady’ as they say.
Trips! There are so many exciting travel and life plans I have up my sleeve this year and I can’t wait to take you along with me. I don’t want to give too much away at this moment in time but yes… Global travels!
I’ve talked and touched on how much I love K-pop at the moment on this platform, but y’all, I’m still hooked. BTS & Black Pink hold a special place in my heart but Big Bang is forever. If you have any new songs / bias recommendations for me please send them on over! My Spotify list is in need to grow this majorly year.
I also got a new camera, finally bought a Cannon G7X Mark ii and I’ve been living for it. Gave it a proper test when I went away the beginning of the year and can’t wait to share that little vlog with you. Plus of course a new camera review 🎥
I have finally realised that I am officially in my late 20’s. I don’t know about you but I genuinely forget how old I am sometimes and am now onto the stage where I reminisce about the times I was 21 and 25… The thing is I’m actually OK with this, I think it’s good to look back and remember all the good and the bad memories. It’s these moments that shape who we are today, it makes you realise that right now is right now and it’s another chance for you to create a better memory to look back on.
Shop The Look
Anyways I really hope you guys like this new layout as much as I do. I am super excited to be back to blogging and continue doing what I love – creating content. Let me know what you think of the new look too and also, belated happy new year. Let’s make this one for the books ⚡️
