5 Things I Am Thankful For

Tuesday, 21 February 2017

1. Health
As you get older you realise there are only a certain number of things that really matter, health being one of them. Knowing that my family and friends are all healthy and happy is all that I really need.

2. Happiness
I have been blessed with a lot of happiness lately, from friends getting engaged to finally hitting the gym and getting that much needed pump of endorphins. It's good to remember that we should never take these amazing moments in our lives for granted. The people who really matter to me seem to be overflowing with positivity and happiness which I am always forever grateful for.

3. Home
I have been living in Liverpool for over 4 years now and I am so happy to really set up a home in this amazing city. There are always hidden coffee shops and new superb restaurants scattered through-out the city, with the most lovely people to greet you - wherever you go.

4. Friendships
We all have those days where you just really need to vent, laugh or cry and I am very lucky and mega proud to have these amazing people who are always there for me. I thank my lucky stars to have these genuine and loyal friends who have always supported my career and life choices. If you're reading this. I love you guys.

5. Love
It's crazy to think that I have been in a long distance relationship with Jean-Michael for, well - coming up to 7 years now and it's pretty clear to see that he is a huge part of my life. He is of course the man behind the majority of my blog photos, including this one but also the best support system anyone could ever ask for. I am forever grateful to have such a kind, generous and loving person in my life. My best friend, my Blub.

What are you thankful for? <3

Sorel Boots

Thursday, 9 February 2017

Oh how I love outdoor boots! If you need a pair of waterproof, snow-proof and most importantly hella-comfortable boots that don't need breaking in - then these are definitely for you. Thanks to a Country Attire blogger event I attended last year, I some how won their biggest prize in a raffle! I was able to choose anything from their Sorel footwear collection and this pair reeled me in. As you can imagine, I was shocked! Not only did I have a fabulous time at the event which you can read about here, I also came home with some new boots! Wohoo!

Sorel prides themselves on bringing the spirit and heritage of expertly crafted footwear to the forefront of design and it was nice to see that there was a great selection at Country Attire's website to choose from. I gravitated towards the 'Tivoli II' due to the textures, simplicity and aesthetically pleasing look of this particular style. I like things to be as comfortable and versatile as possible - to suit all occasions within my wardrobe. Living in England and in particular the North West; where it happens to rain a lot, these boots have been good for the weather recently; not only because of the rubber bottom but the fleece inside provides some welcome warmth. Makes my feet super toasty in the rain and wind.

The funny thing is, I actually reach out to these more than I thought I would, for example on this occasion I was staying over at my aunt’s house in Chester and decided to go for a walk in their nearby forest after a great feast - it was definitely time for some fresh air and a good walk! I paired the boots with a simple black turtle-neck dress and a fun pom-pom skinny-scarf which was gifted by mama's friend all the way from France :). I thought I would be super cold considering I only had the dress and tights on, but I was thankfully super-snug.

Have you heard of Sorel? Would love to hear about your outdoor adventures!
