Let's Talk About Hair Baby | System Professional Haircare

Okay, so who else goes for the 2-for-1 shampoo and conditioner deals at boots when they have run-empty? I'm sure i'm not the only one - right? The only time that I really started 'taking care' of my locks was when I first had ombre hair around 5 years ago, yikes. Back then I was recommended silver shampoos and toners to keep the blondes alive, oh and also Argan oils - when they were all the hype. Needless to say I never really gave my hair a second thought.
I mean, in terms of hair condition and strength - I have pretty-normal, poker-straight thin hair - but lots of it. How I had longed for bouncy voluminous hair when I was younger! Fast forward a decade later with thanks to a blogger event from the lovely people at Sassoon Salons; I have now found a 3 step hair care routine that does exactly that!
After having been given a very thorough consultation regarding my hair and its various conditions; I was analysed and  provided with unique energy codes V1 + H2 + V5.

After testing out these products for a good month now, these are my final conclusions. First of all the smell of each product is just incredible, they just have a gorgeous super fresh and clean aroma - definitely smells like nothing I have ever smelt before. I really love the simplistic packaging as well and how easy it is to physically get the product out to use. The squeeze-top bottles for the shampoo and conditioner is a winner.

Volumize Aerolifter, Hydrate Conditioner & Volumize Shampoo*

Step 1 - V1 Volumize Shampoo Claims to 'Cleanse and strengthen hair for light volume'.

A small amount of this shampoo really goes a long way. I love the texture of the product as well as how much lather it gives to my hair and I really do feel that squeaky clean feeling after rinsing.

Step 2 - H2  - Hydrate Conditioner 'Moisturises and helps prevent dryness'

I do feel like it locks in moisture to my hair and also believe it is keeping the colour of the ends of my hair a nice toned blonde even though I haven't used any silver toners in conjunction, which of course is amazing! In the past I have had to use several, mixed with my conditioners to give that same effect. I also tended to overuse conditioner thinking that the more I apply the better it is for my hair; but having learnt that putting too much conditioner on the ends of my hair actually weighs the hair down - I've stopped that and have been really limiting myself to a small amount in the shower and hey-ho it's been working just fine :)

Step 3 - V6 - Volumize Bodifying Foam 'Long-lasting hold and volume'

Now this is my absolute fave out of the 3-step routine. Past mousse products I have used tends to first become sticky on my hands after application and then solidifies my hair - gross. This one however, leaves no residue at all and has again the most unbelievable smell; and after massaging only a tiny amount in the top section of my hair, it gives that extra boost and vitality that I have longed for since I was young!

I'm honestly really impressed at how these 3 products have changed my hair structure and hair care routine.

Love Is Enough | Wolford Hosiery

Thursday, 16 June 2016

Sunglasses: Spitfire Via ASOS | Coat: New Look | White Shirt: Marks & Spencers | Hosiery : Wolford* | Hat & Bag: Zara | Shoes: River Island

I am completely smitten with these pull up hosiery from Wolford* not only are they super adorable but they are so unbelievably comfy. I was quite skeptical as to whether these were actually going to stay up, but after wearing them out for a full day I can safely report back and say that they did not budge at all. The sticky adhesive at their upper end is legit guys.

The quote itself is what drew me into these to begin with; 'Love Is Enough' is a pretty powerful statement i'd say. I am a huge fan of Love and believe in everything that it stands for so why not wear it on my calves eh? It's also in a gorgeous san-serif font, which being a type nerd that I am; of course I really loove. I feel like it totally compliments and adds to the whole luxe vibe of these essentially simple piece of hosiery.

Now considering that we're in June it's still quite nippy here in England! I mean we did have that fabulous 3 day run-of-sun, but now it's back to rain and darkness... Seriously is that all the sun that we're gonna get this year? Am I the only one who is affected by these things?, leading to questions like should I bring a coat to work / should I wear tights or should I go bare legged? So many things pop into my head when I get up in the morning - the struggle is real! #GirlProblems

This explains why on this occasion I paired these super cute pull ups with my silky faux leopard print coat from New Look. The weather was sunny but the wind just made me re-think my whole outfit situation, however I cannot lie; I was at a pretty perfect temperature in this ensemble. Shout out to you New Look! Thanks for making a cosy coat to keep me warm against the wind :)

I've had the craziest couple of weeks and well this week has been like no other, physically - I started going to the gym again and oh my goodness, you know the drill; of course my muscles ached. The first spinning class I went to, woaah my thighs man. They hurt so bad the next day but you know that good ache after exercising; where you feel like you've instantly gained muscles hehe.

So this is usually where I stop writing, but I'd like to start opening up more about my personal life.
It's been a really tough week for me emotionally, although I managed to push a lot of my feelings to the back of my mind and strolled forward as much as I could. It happens sometimes, but this week they started creeping back up again and it really just put me off -centre with my thoughts and well, life. I'm sure many of you have had similar periods of time like this where you try and push everything you're feeling to one side and focus all your attention onto something else, but you get the random thought or trigger and your just a complete hot-mess. One thing i've done differently instead of bottling things up and has helped me a great deal this week is to really talk out my feelings. By really I mean firstly admitting that I need to let it all out and this has made me really appreciate the support network that i'm really blessed to have! I know your reading this Blub - Thank you :)

Remember that you're never really alone and there is always someone who will listen to you, just like me! I might go into detail on this when the time is right but at this moment in time, I'm okay-ish, I mean i'm still dealing with it and processing it all, but at this moment in time I am okay.

Anyways enough of my rambling!

How have you guys been? What's new with you?
Send me your me blog posts links! I'd love to have a read :)

City Slicker

Monday, 6 June 2016

There's something about the Liverpool dock area that makes me just smile!
One of the best things about living in Liverpool is the fact that you literally have the best of everything; from city skylines, river views and even the scenic countryside.

Hat: Urban Outfitters | Sunglasses: H&M | Jumpsuit: Little Mistress* | Sleeveless Trench Coat: Rare London | Bag: Michael Kors | Shoes: Zara

On this particular stroll I wore my stunning floral jumpsuit from the Chloe Lewis collection at Little Mistress*. I find that I gravitate towards jumpsuits more lately as they're pretty much a style no-brainer and one which I also find very versatile. Especially when they have a gorgeous statement print like this one!
This delicate cherry blossom-esq print really adds depth to the jumpsuit providing that extra dimension into my whole ensemble. One thing that I cannot rave enough to you about is the material. On the website, to me it looked like it was going to be a jersey, almost thin cotton material; However I was pleasantly surprised to find that the material is actually more of a silky material making the whole jumpsuit exude more luxury. I almost feel like this jumpsuit was made for me as it fits like a dream and makes me look even more elongated which I never thought in a million years a jumpsuit could do!

I paired the jumpsuit with my go-to sleeveless trench for the summer season here in the UK - to add a bold contrast to the generally white ensemble and pops of fuchsia with my Michael Kors bag and neon pink lippy.

Side note - I totally cannot wait to have this mane trim and I have a special post coming up regarding hair; so keep an eye out for that real soon! ;)

Hope you enjoyed this post and please do let me know what is your go-to piece for the summer season?
