I recently had the fantastic opportunity to have a gorgeous 3-course meal at Busaba Eathai in Liverpool. I was super excited to be invited as I am sure you have seen from my instagram… I. love. food. Especially anything oriental and spicy. I guess it’s my Indonesian heritage kicking in, seriously this girl loves spicy food.
For starters we opted for the soft-shell crab and the classic chicken satay, both dishes had the loveliest kick of chilli complimenting their wonderful constitution of flavours. I really enjoyed the oyster sauce along side the soft-shell crab, completely different to how I normally have it which is with chili-mayo, but a pleasantly new combination for my taste-buds.
For our mains we had the Red Chilli Beef Fillet and Steamed Whole Sea Bass. This was honestly one of the most tender beef fillet i’ve ever had which was cooked just perfectly, so buttery and soft with just a hint of garlic peeking through the flavours as you munch away, just delicious. The Sea Bass was also very soft and very flavourful with a really strong kick of chilli, coriander, basil and lime. All perfectly presented with pinterest worthy tableware, I mean just look at how the Jasmine rice came, super cute right?
We finished off the meal with some dessert, now unfortunately I have given up chocolate until my birthday, but they were kind enough to offer me extra coconut ice cream which of-course I devoured. My boyfriend on the other hand thoroughly really enjoyed his Chocolate Fondant with the accompanying Chilli Chocolate Sauce, he said it gave the chocolate a surprise and extra oomph. *sigh my turn soon… Anyways, not only did we get treated to this dinner we also had entertainment through the evening with some live music and get this, a tuc tuc photobooth!
It was also so lovely to see Steph StephLaReine, Helena Beaut Chic & Rio Its All About Rio too! I didn’t get a chance to get a photo with Steph but luckily got 2 with Helena & Rio 🙂
