Busaba Eathai Liverpool Blogger Event

Friday, 29 April 2016

I recently had the fantastic opportunity to have a gorgeous 3-course meal at Busaba Eathai in Liverpool. I was super excited to be invited as I am sure you have seen from my instagram... I. love. food. Especially anything oriental and spicy. I guess it's my Indonesian heritage kicking in, seriously this girl loves spicy food.

It was actually the first time my boyfriend attended a blogger event with me, which made it extra special and an excuse for a semi-date night. He was super excited as he also is a foodie! I think on this occasion he out did me on the dressing up front, after a busy week from work I just went for the safe option and opted for a girlie floral dress, blazer and boots combo. He however, wore blue skinny chinos and a crisp white shirt with a luxe velvet dinner jacket. Jean-Michael 1 Pingkan 0 for fashion points. Anyways! As soon as we arrived we were greeted with the loveliest reception from the Busaba team, along with some cocktails and so, obviously we knew we were gonna have a great night!

For starters we opted for the soft-shell crab and the classic chicken satay, both dishes had the loveliest kick of chilli complimenting their wonderful constitution of flavours. I really enjoyed the oyster sauce along side the soft-shell crab, completely different to how I normally have it which is with chili-mayo, but a pleasantly new combination for my taste-buds.

For our mains we had the Red Chilli Beef Fillet and Steamed Whole Sea Bass. This was honestly one of the most tender beef fillet i've ever had which was cooked just perfectly, so buttery and soft with just a hint of garlic peeking through the flavours as you munch away,  just delicious. The Sea Bass was also very soft and very flavourful with a really strong kick of chilli, coriander, basil and lime. All perfectly presented with pinterest worthy tableware, I mean just look at how the Jasmine rice came, super cute right?

We finished off the meal with some dessert, now unfortunately I have given up chocolate until my birthday, but they were kind enough to offer me extra coconut ice cream which of-course I devoured. My boyfriend on the other hand thoroughly really enjoyed his Chocolate Fondant with the accompanying Chilli Chocolate Sauce, he said it gave the chocolate a surprise and extra oomph. *sigh my turn soon... Anyways, not only did we get treated to this dinner we also had entertainment through the evening with some live music and get this, a tuc tuc photobooth!

It was also so lovely to see Steph StephLaReine, Helena Beaut Chic & Rio Its All About Rio too! I didn't get a chance to get a photo with Steph but luckily got 2 with Helena & Rio :)

Make sure you check out their fabulous blogs!

I've actually gone back and eaten at Busaba with my Mom and the second time around was equally just as good! I would most definitely recommend that you visit Busaba Liverpool not only will you have first class service... but the food to match :)

When In Chelsea | Glamour Beauty Festival 2016 Outfit

Tuesday, 5 April 2016

Sunday, March 13th was a glorious day. It was the day I attended the Glamour Beauty Fest. Not only was it an incredible experience leaving me so buzzed! and with a phenomenal goodie bag; but it really taught me a lot about the beauty industry. One of the best parts of the day was of course getting to physically try out all the up-and-coming products and having a real good swatch of them - I'm a sucker for sneak peeks and first hand tries I think everyone is secretly and this was definitely the perfect opportunity for me to really let loose!

There were so many brands involved such as Nars, Benefit, Garnier, Lancome etc... and each brand had a dedicated team of makeup-artists with representatives who really took good care of you.

I posted more photos on the day's events over on my Instagram, which can be found here :)

On the way home from the event, since it was a magnificent day in London, I luckily managed to get a few snaps of my outfit - Initially I was gonna go super casj, as I knew there would be a lot of walking around; but the inner fashionista in me took over and so I decided to make an attempt at channelling my inner Saint Laurent with this full on monochromatic number; all from Rare London.

As soon as I saw this shirt I knew it had to be mine. I fell very much in love with the pleasant pleats and sweet-little-black neck-tie. The ruffles on the arms too, are just super-adorable. I teamed it up with my cherished ripped-knee-black denim jeans which I wear all the time (well, a lot! ^^). They really keep their shape well which is always a good thing; there is nothing more disappointing than 'baggy' skinny jeans am I right ladies?

I absolutely loved how these shots turned out! It was only my third time around Chelsea and I definitely want to go back and explore more. I love the luxe feel of the streets and oh my goodness, if you're into animals then you must pay a visit - there we SO many cute puppies around I can't even...

Have you visited Chelsea before? Comment down below and let me know your must-visit London-places please :)
